About Us

Agricultural and horticultural research department (breeding and agronomy of seedlings and seeds) is one of the old research departments of the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center, which started working in 1965.
The main mission of this research department is in the field of production and improvement for agricultural and horticultural crops and providing suitable solutions for the agricultural sector.. This department is active in the research units of cereals, oilseeds, corn and fodder plants, genetics and horticultural heritage resources, as well as two laboratories under the department. The geographical areas under the activity of this research department are Islamabad Gharb Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Station, Zaytoun Dalahu Research Station, Mahidasht Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Station, Collection of hereditary reserves and Farmers Farms of the province.

Duties
1- breeding, agronomy and technological studies about important agricultural and horticultural products for different climates of the province
2- Preparation and presentation of relevant technical knowledge
3- Production of the primary kernels needed for seeds and seedlings of the province
4- Providing technical and research consultations to determine policies, guidelines and monitor the work of seed and seedling producers in the province.
