Kermanshah Agricultural Research and Education Center and Natural Resources can be separated into two main agricultural research and Education departments, which have seen various structural changes in the administrative developments of the past 6 decades, until April 2015, with the announcement of the Research, Education and Agricultural promotion, as the organization in charge of agricultural research and Education in the country, was merged with the Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center and since then it has been operating under the name "Kermanshah Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center".
Background of agricultural research
Agricultural research activities in Kermanshah province began with the establishment of agricultural research departments that operated directly under the supervision of research institutions, mostly based in Tehran. The first department launched in Kermanshah province was the research department for breeding and preparation of sugar beet seeds, which started its activity in 1963 under the supervision of the research institute for breeding and preparation of sugar beet seeds. The Research Department of Breeding and Preparation of Seeds and Seedlings was another department that started working in 1965 under the supervision of the Institute of Breeding and Preparation of Seeds and Seedlings. Soil and water research department since 1368, pest and plant diseases research department since 1973, animal husbandry research department since 1973 and forests and pastures research department since 1986 and started their research activities. In line with the implementation of the policies of the relevant ministry and in order to focus different research departments, in the second half of 2017, the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of Kermanshah Province was established and started its work. After the merger of the Ministries of Agriculture and Construction Jihad, the Agricultural Research Center and Natural Resources of Kermanshah Province continued its activities in the second half of 2002 in the place of the former Agricultural Research Center. Agricultural educational activities in Kermanshah province also started in 1952 with the establishment of the Agricultural Academy. Also, Kermanshah Constructive Jihad education Center started its activity since 1982 in the field of religious education and serving employees. Currently, it operates with 8 departments under the headings of agricultural sciences and horticulture, animal sciences, Economic - social and extension of agriculture, Plant protection, forest and rangeland, soil protection and watershed, soil and water, sugar beet. With regard to the goals of organizing research stations and reforming the structure and holding expert meetings, this center currently has 3 stations, a research and educational campus and 2 research farms that are the place of implementation of research plans and projects. In this province, there are 2 multi-purpose stations and 2 single-purpose (special) stations with agricultural sciences and horticulture, botanical, soil and water and animal science research activities and trends and an educational field. The infrastructure area of all the stations, bases and research and educational farms is 26471 square meters and the arenas are 38516 hectares.
First integration:
- Forming the agricultural and natural resources research center of the province;
In line with the implementation of the policies of the Ministry of Agriculture and in order to focus different research departments in the second half of 1988, the Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center of Kermanshah province consists of 6 research departments, including: the research department of breeding and preparation of sugar beet seeds, the department of pests and plant diseases, the department of breeding and Preparation of saplings and seeds, soil and water department, forest and rangeland department, and animal husbandry department started working.
Three administrative, financial and technical service units and three research stations in Sararud, Mahidasht and Islamabad gharb also provided the necessary services to provide support to the aforementioned research departments.
In 1991, following the implementation of the law on the separation of duties of the former ministers of jihad and agriculture, the animal husbandry, forest and rangeland research departments were separated from this center and joined the former jihad organization.
With the formation and establishment of the deputy of the Rainfed Agricultural Research Institute at the Sararoud station, this station was also separated from the Kermanshah Agricultural Research Center at the end of 2000 and continues to work as the deputy of the country's Rainfed Research Institute. Kermanshah Agricultural Research Center also has four research departments; Plant protection, soil and water, improvement and preparation of seedlings and seeds, and improvement and preparation of sugar beet seeds, as well as the economic research group were following up their scientific and research activities.

- Integration with Jihad Sazandegi Research Center
In the second half of 2002, with the merger of the two ministries of agriculture and Jihad Sazandegi , the Kermanshah Province Agricultural Research and Natural Resources Center was established and resumed its activities in the former agricultural research center building site in its new form, which had 9 departments and one research unit.
1- Kermanshah Agricultural Education Center:
Agricultural education in Kermanshah province also started in 1952 with the establishment of an agricultural institute under the supervision of the Department of Culture at that time and with the aim of education teachers for rural teachers (in a place located in Kermanshah city in front of the current Agricultural Jihad Organization). In 1958, the Agricultural Academy added 2nd level skilled technician education to its duties and chose the title "Agricultural Education Center" for it.
This process continued until the Faculty of Agriculture was separated from the Department of Culture of the then Ministry of Culture and transferred to the Ministry of Education and Vocational Education until that center was transferred to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources in 1966.
In the early years of the war of imposition, the building of Kermanshah Agricultural Education Center was handed over to the Sepah Pasdaran's Islamic Revolution, and one hundred and four hectares of land in the Kolyae village in Mahidasht was given to the Mahidasht center by the land transfer board. After the transfer of the land, the construction of the buildings and facilities of the current center was started and completed in two phases during the years 1982 to 1988 and 1990 to 1996, and thus the Kermanshah Agricultural Education Center was established in this area of the province.
2-Kermanshah Jihad Sazandegi Education Center:
This center which started its activity since 1982 in the field of religious Education and serving employees has also undertaken the mission of sending colleagues to equivalent courses, educational mission and scholarships since 1365. This center also started cross-sectional educational activities.
3- SarpolZahab Agricultural Education Center:
Sarpol Zahab Agricultural Education Center as one of the centers of the Agricultural Jihad Education Center of Kermanshah province which started its activity in 1976 as an "Agricultural Education Center" joined the group in 2004. This center has 14 hectares of agricultural land, a set of educational classes, assembly hall, prayer hall, sports hall, laboratory, dormitory, etc.
Integration of agricultural education centers
Formation of Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center:
Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center located in Mahidasht, is the result of the merger of two Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Centers and Kermanshah Jihad Sazandegi, as well as Sarpol Zahab Agricultural Education Center which started its activity in a new format under the name "Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center".
This center is located in Mahidasht at 20 km of the Kermanshah-Islamabad Gharb road and has 87 hectares of productive agricultural land that is completely covered by the pressurized irrigation system, 4 hectares of gardens, 13 hectares of space, educational, administrative, library (with more than 3300 book titles), green space, amphitheater hall (with a capacity of 224 people), machine workshops, dining hall (with a capacity of 350 people), indoor and outdoor sports hall, prayer room, 2 guest house rooms, 2 dormitory rooms ( 4 floors in total) and... are among the other facilities of this center.
Currently, the Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center in Mahidasht has 31 classrooms, laboratories: science, entomology, agricultural science, plant conservation and botany, as well as educational workshops: computer, agricultural machinery, and in the field of applied scientific education, Short-term training of employees, training of agricultural operators and training of students in the branch of agricultural science is active in two centers of Kermanshah and Sarpol Zahab.
Merger of Agricultural Education and Research Center in 2015
At the beginning of 2015 and according to the decision of the Board of Trustees of the Agricultural Research, Education and Promotion Organization, two Kermanshah Agricultural Research Centers and the Kermanshah Agricultural Jihad Education Center (which itself was the result of the merger of the Sarpol Zahab Agricultural Education Center, the Kermanshah Agricultural Education Center and the Kermanshah Jihad Sazandegi Center ) were merged so that based on the new structure, all research and agricultural education activities of the province will be carried out in an integrated manner under the name of "Kermanshah Province Agriculture and Natural Resources Research and Education Center".
