Introduce

Information Technology (IT) as defined by the American Information Technology Association (ITAA) deals with the study, design, development, implementation, support or management of computer-based information systems, especially software programs and computer hardware.
Briefly, information technology deals with issues such as the use of electronic computers and software rather than dealing with the conversion, storage, protection, processing, transmission and retrieval of information. In another definition that seems to be more complete and accurate, information technology refers to all technologies that are used and effective in 6 areas of information collection, storage, processing, protection, transmission and display.

Aims

Designing, building, setting up and maintaining hardware and software systems, collecting, organizing, classifying, using and transferring information and managing their process.

Duties

1-- Management of sites: including equipping and updating information systems, maintaining and managing the center's sites such as Sampat, the center's portal, etc.

2- Managing computer networks and providing communication between them

3- Responsible for internet communication and data affairs of the center

4- Responsible for setting up, maintaining and developing the Center's Data Center

5- Aggregating the data of the center and providing services for network access to them

6- hardware and software support of the center systems including:

Preparing computers including: installing Windows, drivers, general software, updating Windows, antiviruses
Hardware maintenance and repair of computers
7- Setting up network services for users (Internet, file sharing, e-mail, etc.)

8- Network and infrastructure development: All activities related to the network at passive and active levels, as well as creating the required infrastructure and creating security in the network, are the responsibility of this unit. which includes the following:

Maintenance of center networks (providing effective network service for all users)
Creating and setting up new required networks (network requirements assessment, implementation solutions, implementation follow-up and implementation, etc.)
Distribution and management of Internet bandwidth and implementation of Internet policies
Creating and maintaining the necessary security for all network level services and access to various resources, software and server security policies
Creating the necessary network services including e-mail, FTP, ISA, ..
Internet user management (access hours, access level)
Installing the operating system and required software such as SQL Server and setting up and configuring the required servers
Follow up to install and set up the server part of purchased or required software and interact with the contractor in the field of servers
Maintenance of servers and databases (updating windows, antiviruses, backing up databases and software implementation policies)
9- Hardware support: needs assessment, provision and maintenance of computers, accessories and hardware equipment including:

Preparing specifications and identification for all computers and updating them
Providing service to defective systems and equipment (repairing them if possible within the unit and otherwise sending them for repair and follow-up process)
Identifying the need for computers or peripherals and providing complete specifications for purchasing and meeting current needs

Responsible for moving computers at the center level
 

A) Information and Scientific Services Center of  Kermanshah Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center from the merger of the two libraries of the Jihad Research Center and the Agricultural Research Center in the second half of 2002 with the aim of supporting the center's researches and researchers by identifying needs, providing, organizing and The dissemination of the required scientific and specialized information and the expansion of the culture of information has been created with an area of 120 square meters and has progressed in line with the objectives of the Agricultural Research, Education and extension organization.

This library now has a collection of specialized information resources in the fields of agriculture, natural resources and livestock affairs, including 7136 Persian books, 1037 English books, 579 titles of agricultural documents, 1729 titles of final reports of research projects, 104 titles of theses, 93 titles of  Audio-visual materials and a number of extension publications and web databases are active.

Between the years 1988-2001, the library of the Jihad Research Center with a collection of 3270 volumes of Farsi and English books has been active in the field of collecting and lending resources. In 1380, the organization of the books of this library started with the training of Pars Azarakhsh single-user software by Agricultural Information Technology and Science Center.

The library of the Agricultural Research Center, with a collection of 4,667 volumes of Persian and English books collected during the years 1988 to 1998, started hiring librarians in 1998. In the second half of 2002, after the merger of Jihad and Agriculture Centers, they were known as Kermanshah Agricultural and Natural Resources Research Center. Since 2003, the process of organizing information resources using the Simorgh web software has been ongoing with the supervision and support of the information organization group based in the in Agricultural Information Technology and Science Center.

From June 2016 until now, by choosing the software of Azarsa Digital Library (Azarakhsh Pars) as a single software for all libraries affiliated to the TAT organization, the integrated research and educational catalog of agriculture (FIPAK) was implemented, and subsequently, in September 2017, the electronic loan of resources was launched.

The aim of the information and scientific services center of the Kermanshah Agricultural and Natural Resources Research and Education Center is to support the center's researches and researchers by identifying the needs, providing, organizing, and disseminating the required scientific and specialized information and expanding the information culture.

1. Collecting, organizing, disseminating and retrieving information and providing library services using new library and information technologies in coordination with the Agricultural Information Technology and Science Center

2. Cooperating with the Center for Agricultural Information and Scientific Documents in the field of producing the organization's databases, such as the comprehensive catalog of agriculture, the Agris database of Iran.

3. Carrying out research activities in the field of agricultural information

Kermanshah Information and Scientific Services Center was created with the aim of providing services to the researchers of this center. Therefore, the majority of library services are defined for this group of contacts, however, within the framework of existing laws and regulations, other interested people in this field can use some services of this library in a limited way.
